Cabin Fever Quilt Guild

Mar 26 2013 | 0 comments

My mother and I traveled to Portola, California, yesterday to share a trunk show with the Cabin Fever Quilt Guild. What a DELIGHTFUL group of quilting ladies! We enjoyed the wonderful town along the Feather River... even had an ice cream at the quaint pharmacy. A big thank you to the ladies at The Blue Petunia who shared a trunk show of their own with us! :-) I look forward to visiting Homestead Fabrics as well. Thank you again for your gracious hospitality!

Robin's Rainbow in Higginsville, MO

Mar 19 2013 | 0 comments

Look at all the blocks made by these ladies taking a "Robin's Rainbow" class from instructor Lisa Ernewein at Quilter's Harvest quilt shop in Higginsville, MO. I see a block with a black background and a little miniature block just to the right of middle. What fun! Thank you for sharing ladies! They all look fabulous!

Squidgers and Winks by Janet McWorkman

Mar 18 2013 | 10 comments

Squidgers and Winks -- the original title of the Tiddlywinks Game -- is the name of my dear friend Janet McWorkman's delightful quilt.

Squidgers and Winks is still played at the national tournament level in Britain. The colors in the quilt are the original game colors with the strong colors as the Squidgers and the pale colors as the Winks. Who knew?! :-) The playful quilting by Laurie Vandergriff of Spring Creek Quilting was unplanned except for the echo quilting in the large gray areas. This quilt is back in Anchorage, Alaska with Janet; however, her Flotsam and Jetsam quilt is traveling to Alsace, France for the European Patchwork Quilt Show and will also make an appearance at the Sisters Quilt Show in Oregon in July.  Simply BEAUTIFUL Janet!
